Day 4: Awkward & Awesome

Awkward
  • This dress is a bit of a problem in the San Francisco wind. Fortunately, a black slip does the trick.
  • I really wanted to go here for lunch. It's right down the street from my office. But the line was ridiculous, so I headed someplace else.
  • I spent way too much time on Photoshop today figuring out how to do one specific thing. I mean, it's good that I learned something, but not good that it took so long.
  • Today's crock-pot curry meal was a fail. Well, not a total fail. It was edible. But I do not recommend making this recipe.

Gap dress (for under $10), handmade scarf, Urban Outfitters cardigan, Madden boots

Awesome
  • That "someplace else" I had to go to for lunch had a Scoutmob deal going on. Hooray for half-off a pulled pork sandwich! (And I saved half of it for lunch tomorrow. Win!)
  • I made this pasta for lunch last Sunday, and it was a big win.
  • I won my first giveaway! I can't wait to get some goodies. Thanks, Dotty!
  • Lots of friends are coming out for tomorrow's concert. Seriously, this is going to be one of the most memorable moments of my life. I can feel it.

Awkward & Awesome Thursday

Target top, Urban cardi, Old Navy cords and necklace, Banana Republic boots

Awkward

~ Still waiting on news from the doc, enduring slight (thank goodness) discomfort in the meantime.
~ At first, I typed "Blobber" instead of "Blogger."
~ Still have several to-do's on my list at work. And it's already Friday.
~ Not succeeding in making a dish tonight for my friends' bday party tomorrow. (Sad face.)
~ Failing to exercise today, due mainly to the first awkward-ness. (I'll just add on an additional day at the end, k? K.

Awesome

~ Joining my friend Jenny for a surprise pm coffee break.
~ Thai for dinner and watching this movie with my pal, Christi. (Please note the all-star early-2000's cast. Including Sisqo, of "The Thong Song" fame.)
~ Red velvet cake at work for a co-worker's birthday. (I'll eat dairy and gluten if it means I get to enjoy a small slice of red velvet heaven.)
~ Tomorrow being Friday; the hubs returns!
~ The next 30 for 30 challenge starting oh so soon!

23 of 30: What's the Bright Idea?

Delia*s top, Gap cords, Madden boots, old scarf and necklace

Ok. You're probably wondering where I've been. Well, I have some awesome excuses and some awkward excuses, so let's do this in Awkward and Awesome Thursday format!

Awkward

  • Time is just not on my side. The days have been getting away from me and I just can't keep up.
  • The last 10 days of the 30 for 30 were HARD. (I can say this now because tomorrow is technically my last day, aside from all the post catching-up I have to do.)
  • My laptop crashed. This is sad. But I don't give up easily and will do everything I can possibly do before giving up. I'll even call customer service, by golly.
Awesome
  • I have cool friends. They're so cool that when they come for conferences in San Francisco, they stay a few extra days just to see me. And other friends come up from SoCal to visit me simultaneously. So there's lots of friendness going on. Two of my ladies were here last weekend and we had a blast. More on that later.
  • I have a cool new job. And you know what? I get to blog for a living. It's only been three days, but I'm very optimistic about this one, people.
  • I have a full social calendar. Well, OK, Monday I had class. But I've been very social otherwise. So social in fact that my apartment is a mess and I can't remember the last time I cooked dinner. Oh, right, I made tacos with my buddy Steph last Thursday. That counts, right?
