Recipe for a great weekend beach vacay:

Ingredients:

3 friends (preferably of the female variety)

2 sandy SoCal beaches

45 tablespoons of sunscreen (or to taste)

1 spectacular dinner

1 beautiful beach sunset

2 beach cruiser bikes

Preparation:

Mix vigorously with liberal sunshine and laughter.

It's silly that I wrote that. But it's also my blog and my weekend was wonderful. Just look at that beautiful beach!

On an unrelated note, I'm thinking about starting another blog (I know, I know, but don't worry--my cheese blog will not die. It's just gettin' started, baby!). The new blog would be about something I basically work one everyday: social media and blogging.

I'm curious--would you read it?

Sudan

On Saturday night, we attended a very special event: A Night for Sudan. My church partners with an organization called City Hope. City Hope supports lots of great programs in the city and beyond, one being Harvesters, a non-profit committed to caring for orphans worldwide. 

Right now, Harvesters is working to build a hospital in Southern Sudan to serve the community there by providing basic, preventative care.

Next month, a group from my church is heading to Southern Sudan to help the hospital with whatever they need.

One of the sweetest girls I know, Heather, is going on the trip for a second summer in a row. It's so great to hear her talk about it, because she gets so excited about her role there.

The event was great--and not just because get got to dress up. They raised a lot of funds for the trip and the hospital.

I can't wait to hear about the trip.

Ok, Ok. I'll get a guitar pick...

This was, what, last Thursday? It's been a tad busy, what with the out-of-town visitors, dancing the night away, crawfish eatin', karaoke all night, Bay to Breakers, and lots of food.

That was my weekend.

But on to the post. I've noticed that sometimes viewing my outfit photos right after snapping them gives me some insight. This time, it was that I really wanted to make this maxi dress look like a maxi skirt, but it just wasn't flattering. At all. The sweaters on top merely cut me off at a weird spot, so I opted for a cardigan, which is much better for my shape, I think.

I applaud you if you read all of that rambling. I'm extremely tired and can't really tell if I'm making sense.
