This Is Just To Say...

...my husband is famous. And adorable. Ain't he, though? Remember how he didn't want me showing his face on this blog because he's paranoid? Well, I suppose that doesn't apply now that he got stopped in the middle of the street 'cause some street style blogger wanted to take his picture.

Yeah, he's pretty good looking.

That's all. I have no outfit to post. Just my husband's cute face.

The end.

Two in One Day! Lucky You!

Old Navy dress via Syd, Urban cardigan, Prana leggings, Banana Republic boots, Old Navy bag, gifted scarf, awesome shark
This is a first dress swap I've done. And it was not planned. I was in South Carolina last week for a friend's wedding. The hubs wasn't able to come back with me, so it turned into ladies' slumber party all weekend. First, with all of my friends and the bride, then with my great friend Steph and our moms.

It was lovely.

What's the best part about slumber party-ing with lots of your friends? It's like your wardrobe increases five-fold! (OK, that's not the best thing, but it's pretty darn sweet.)

My bud Syd brought eight (yep, eight) dresses because she wasn't sure what she wanted to wear, and several of us benefited from her indecision. (Thanks, Syd!). I borrowed a lovely blue number for the rehearsal dinner and then this flowered dress for the wedding.

She borrowed one of my dresses for the rehearsal. And then I suggested she keep it for a while. Why not? I don't get to wear it very often, so it needs some love. And I asked if I could keep this cutie.

I immediately got to winterizing it for San Francisco's cold, wet Spring weather. And this is what I came up with. The hubs and I went to brunch this morning and then we walked by this awesome shark mural. Photo shoot done.

I hope more dress swaps are in my future. It's like getting new clothes without paying for them! Syd, I think we should make this a monthly-ish thing, don't you? (I'm waiting to see how/where you wear my dress!)

Friends Syd, Danielle, me and Steph (and Claire looking nonchalant) after the wedding.

28 of 30: Why Hello, Blogosphere!

Gap jeans, top and jacket, Cotton Basics tank, Madden boots, Old Navy scarf

Gap sweater, jeans and top, Target flats

Well, y'all, this is it. I know I did the whole 30 for 30; the weird thing is, I can't find my 30th outfit. The day I seem to be missing it March 1st. It was probably lost when my old laptop crashed, but if I recover it somehow I promise to revive it.

Otherwise, looks like I had a 29 for 29. And I'm totally cool with that. In fact, I love this last outfit. Comfortable, cute, a little fashiony, but not too much.

Anyhoo, that new job is still going great, thanks for asking. It means a lot of new challenges, but I'm really enjoying everything I'm learning. It's actually a little strange blogging right now considering I do it everyday for work.

As far as my style aesthetic goes, I think I'm starting to get it a little better. I'm not buying things on a whim as much (thanks to last month's shopping ban), and I've started making a list of fashion staples that I want to save up for.

Up next: A dress swap with my good friend, Syd!

27 of 30: She Works Hard For The Money

Gap tunic and cords, Target flats

Y'all, I have to apologize for my lack of posting. This new job has me staring at a computer screen, reading and blogging all day long, and so I'm not super keen on blogging when I get home in the evening. Guess I still have a bit to learn about the whole work-life balance thing now that my workload is a bit heavier.

But I love it. A lot. I have learned so much and am so excited about what I'm learning.

So I will get back to posting more regularly when things calm down.

In other news, I'm going back east for wedding next week. I get to see lots of friends and my family so I am STOKED.

26 of 30: What's With the Door?

Gap top and scarf, J. Brand jeans, Converse vest, husband's belt, Madden shoes, Old Navy bag

I just don't know. This door is literally one door down from my apartment building and it is so bizarre. I don't know what this place is/what it used to be, but it sure makes a fun door to pose in front of.

This was my last 30 for 30 outfit before I started my new job. At first I was nervous about making my 30 pieces work in this new office. True, I only had four more remixes after this one, but you just never know what the atmosphere is going to be in a new office.

Fortunately, it's totally casual. I work with a lot of guys (engineers and programmers) and a few women, and they all dress really casual. Which is great.

Slowly catching up with these posts, people!

Thanks to Steph for taking the photos!

25 of 30: Downtown

Gap sweater and jeans, Mossimo flats, gifted scarf, Old Navy bag (and that's a salted caramel hot chocolate with a shot of espresso in my hand. YUM.)

I was thrilled that I got to spend some quality time with these two awesome ladies. True, we did stay out late having a good time one night, but the rest of the time we mainly just hung out, ate food and had lots of great conversations. Let's just say I'm happy that I'll get to see them again in just a couple of weeks. (Headin' east for a wedding!)

This outfit is quite possibly my favorite of the 30. I mean, it's really simple, but I love the combo of the tapestry scarf and the leopard-print flats. And this sweater has become probably my favorite piece in the 30. All in all, a great day for my outfit.

I know I haven't gotten to blog the end of the 30 yet (don't worry, it's coming), but I'd just like to say that on day 30, I walked into the Gap, tried on lotsa stuff, and left empty-handed. Now that's dedication! (Even though a pair of jeggings, a sweet sweater and an embellished jersey top were calling my name.) Will power, baby!

Thanks to Steph for taking the photos!

24 of 30: I Don't Like It

Gap top and socks, Prana legging, Target cardigan, Banana Republic rain boots, necklace from Guatemala

Blerg. I do not like this one. I think it's mainly the leggings. Because I tried to wear them as pants. The top is too short with them and the whole efffect is just blerg. The funny thing is, this is what I wore my last day of work. We went out afterwards for happy hour, and I changed into a black tank top and long cardigan. It worked a bit better, but this was not one of my better decisions.

So, yeah, last day of work. Y'all it was my last day with a company I've been with for over two and a half years. So it truly was a bittersweet move, but also a necessary one in terms of personal career goals.

What I do like about this day? My face in that first picture. I don't know what expression I'm making, but it works. Somehow. You can tell by my pose that I was working my I-used-to-dream-of-being-a-model and I-watch-too-much-America's-Next-Top-Model poses.

Ciao, y'all!

23 of 30: What's the Bright Idea?

Delia*s top, Gap cords, Madden boots, old scarf and necklace

Ok. You're probably wondering where I've been. Well, I have some awesome excuses and some awkward excuses, so let's do this in Awkward and Awesome Thursday format!

Awkward

  • Time is just not on my side. The days have been getting away from me and I just can't keep up.
  • The last 10 days of the 30 for 30 were HARD. (I can say this now because tomorrow is technically my last day, aside from all the post catching-up I have to do.)
  • My laptop crashed. This is sad. But I don't give up easily and will do everything I can possibly do before giving up. I'll even call customer service, by golly.
Awesome
  • I have cool friends. They're so cool that when they come for conferences in San Francisco, they stay a few extra days just to see me. And other friends come up from SoCal to visit me simultaneously. So there's lots of friendness going on. Two of my ladies were here last weekend and we had a blast. More on that later.
  • I have a cool new job. And you know what? I get to blog for a living. It's only been three days, but I'm very optimistic about this one, people.
  • I have a full social calendar. Well, OK, Monday I had class. But I've been very social otherwise. So social in fact that my apartment is a mess and I can't remember the last time I cooked dinner. Oh, right, I made tacos with my buddy Steph last Thursday. That counts, right?
